Meadowcliffe Drive Erosion Control Project

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) undertook remedial erosion control works along a portion of the Scarborough Bluffs at the Lake Ontario shoreline, in the City of Toronto. The project site spanned approximately 600 m of shoreline between Bluffers Park and Bellamy Ravine (also known as Gates Gully).

Notice Minor Maintenance Works

Please be advised, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority is undertaking minor maintenance works due to a recent landslide along a section of the Scarborough Bluffs located immediately below Sylvan Avenue and Meadowcliffe Drive and is expected to be completed by Friday June 5, 2015. The community can continue to access the waterfront through these maintenance works.

For more information regarding the mainentance work, please contact Lindsay Prihoda, Project Manager by telephone (416) 407-1754 or email lprihoda@trca.on.ca.

Project Completion

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is pleased to announce that substantial completion of the Meadowcliffe Drive Erosion Control Project has been achieved.  As the site stabilizes, future on-site works will include native plantings and installation of critical wildlife structures such as nesting boxes to support wildlife habitat development.  dditional restoration of the beach located between Bellamy Ravine and Sylvan Avenue shoreline protection will also be completed. This work is currently scheduled in 2015.

TRCA staff have been monitoring the condition of the constructed remedial works and will continue to do so on a regular basis during this first year following construction, and at least annually thereafter, to ensure that these works are functioning as designed and that any deficiencies are identified for maintenance work in a timely fashion, as funding permits.
