Toronto and Region Conservation advises that Environment Canada is forecasting rain and thunderstorms starting in the evening, with showers continuing throughout tomorrow. These conditions may result in over 35mm of rainfall over today and tomorrow, with the possibility for higher amounts where thunderstorms occur.
River and stream levels are normal at this time. However, forecasted rainfall amounts will result in water levels in rivers and streams rising, sometimes rapidly and may remain elevated into tomorrow. Rapidly rising water, high river and stream levels, or fast moving water all create dangerous conditions. The possibility exists for flooding on roadways and in low-lying areas.
Please exercise caution around all bodies of water and stay away from rivers and streams. Please alert any children under your care of these dangerous conditions and supervise their activities. Please avoid driving through flooded roadways in low-lying areas and at underpasses.
This Flood Outlook Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Tuesday, June 9, 2015. TRCA continues to monitor streams and weather conditions closely and will issue further messages as required. For more information please contact the on-call Flood Duty Officer.
