How are we conserving water?
Water Recycling System
Water used by the Aquatic Playground elements is collected in drains located on the floor of the playground. It is then pumped back into the pump house where it is filtered through sand filters, sanitized by a UV system, and pumped by a 15hp circulation pump back through the system to be used again. Treated water passes through sensors which ensure water going to the spray features is clean. If the makeup of water passing through the sensors is not within the allowable limits, the system shuts down, thus ensuring the quality of water being used.
Waste Dispersal System
When the system is flushed for annual maintenance procedures, the waste water that is generated is pumped into a holding tank, where it is held and eventually sent through a dispersal system to irrigate soft landscaping in the area.
Energy and Water Efficiency
A system controller ensures that the Aquatic Playground features only use water when activated by a user pushing an activation button located in the playground. The features are pre-programmed to follow various sequences once activated. Washrooms and the pump house feature energy efficient light fixtures and low flow toilets and faucets. Visit www.watersmartpeel.ca to learn more about water-saving toilets and fixtures.

Water Safety Rules
If you are swimming:
- Please review the swimming area rules posted.
- Weak or non-swimmers should wear a life jacket or personal floatation device (PFD) - this is NOT a substitute for adult supervision.
- Whenever your children are near water, you should be near your children. Continuous eye contact is essential. Children less than seven years of age - or who are weak or non-swimmers - should stay within arm's reach of an adult.
- Drowning is a silent killer. It can take as little as 10 seconds and contrary to popular belief, drowning victims rarely call, wave or signal for help. Never leave a child alone in or near water - even for a moment!
- Always swim with a buddy. Never swim alone.
- Swim within designated areas only and review water depths with children.
