Gauging Data

Monitoring is an integral component of watershed management, providing information that allows us to establish targets for protection and rehabilitation, to evaluate management actions and to inform management decisions. 

 

The TRCA has been involved in monitoring for many years. Much of this monitoring activity has been associated with individual regeneration projects or the flood warning network, but it also provides information on the health of ecosystems.

With the broad demand for information on the health of the environment and budgetary limitations, a monitoring network is envisioned as a cooperative effort between agencies and organizations to collect, store, distribute and report on monitoring data that furthers the interests of the partners.
