Description
Discover how water in storm drains travel to the nearest body of water without treatment through an interactive model and slide show. Once educated, participants paint yellow fish beside each storm drain and deliver educational fish shaped flyers. Adult volunteers guide youth groups through the neighbour hood with a ration of 1 adult for every 6 children.
Preparation
It is the main teacher's or group leader's responsibility to coordinate with the Yellow Fish Road coodinator and choose quiet residential streets in their neighbourhood approximatley 3 weeks prior to the event; Each main teacher or group leader must read the Yellow Fish Road manual, and sign and return the Volunteer Agreement Form; Name tags for students is helpful.
