Staff

A WOW team member is an expert on water conservation and a naturalist at heart. We have 20 years of collective experience studying ecology and managing groups in- and out-of-doors, helping others to discover nature.

WOW staff have a gift for engaging students through hands-on learning experiences and for creating a safe learning environment. First-Aid training and experience teaching outdoor skills such as orienteering and wildlife identification are just a few of our qualifications. Some of our programs can be presented in French as well.

Some of the WOW programs, like the Aquatic Plants Program and the Yellow Fish Road Program, provide students with an opportunity to take environemntal action within their own community.

WOW programs usually run from 9:00a.m. to 11:30a.m in the morning, or 12:30p.m to 3:00p.m in the afternoon. These times can be changed according to your school schedule.

Teachers' Preparation/Involvement:

We would appreciate it if name tags, that the students can make prior to our visit, be placed on their desks or on the students. This will help us to remember names in the short time we are with them. The instructor will be leaving you with an evaluation form that we ask be filled out. This form helps us to make improvements to the program and lets us track our success. We ask that the teacher doing the bookings provide us with a list of the room numbers we will be visiting including program times, the participating teacher’s names and scheduled recess times. It would be helpful if the participating teachers also received this list so they know when we are scheduled to be in their classroom. Please select 10 or more student volunteers prior to our visit to assist with the transportation of equipment from the parking lot to the classroom. We will call for the volunteers upon arrival.
