The Rouge watershed is a source of your drinking water - whether you rely on wells or water from Lake Ontario. the safety of our drinking water and the future of the Oak Ridges Moraine have lead to a number of initiatives towards sustainable living in Ontario, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the Great Lakes Region. Actions taken in the Rouge watershed can provide a model for actions in other watersheds, as well as influence the environmental health of larger systems.
