The Humber River Watershed

Encompassing 903 square kilometres and home to 732,000 people, the Humber River Watershed is the largest in Toronto and Region Conservation's (TRCA's) jurisdiction.

The Humber River Watershed is the largest in the Toronto area. Its waters, originating on the Niagara Escarpment and the Oak Ridges Moraine, flow down the Humber River into Lake Ontario. All told, the area includes 1800 kilometers of waterway and 600 bodies of water, numerous species of plants, fish, and animals - and is home to 732,000 people.

TRCA is involved in a number of projects in the Humber River Watershed, such as the 428 hectare Oak Ridges Corridor Park, operates recreation areas and educational centres, as well as guiding various conservation and watershed management operations.
