Growing vegetables is a great way to reconnect with nature, get excercise, and eat healthy food, but it can also be very challenging for new gardeners to get started.At this workshop, Toronto Master Gardeners will demystify vegetable gardening and provide practical information on garden planting and layout, what plants need to grow, seed-starting, soils, fertilizers, various crops and maximizing productivity. In partnership with Toronto Chinese for Ecological Living (TCEL). An interpreter for translation to Cantonese will be available.
Milliken Park Neighbourhood Walk - Explore Greening Projects for the Neighbourhood

Join TRCA and Toronto Chinese for Ecological Living (TCEL) for a nature walk through Milliken Park and beyond. We will tour the park to learn about its natural features and then branch out into the neighbourhood to learn about plans to help bring even more green to the neighbourhood. Explore the greening project ideas identified in the new Neighbourhood Greening Plan and find out how you can get involved to save money and improve the health and enjoyment of your neighbourhood. This is a rain or shine event, please dress appropriately for the weather. In partnership with Toronto Chinese for Ecological Living (TCEL). Cantonese and Mandarin interpretation will be available.
